From January 25th-February 24th, I will be participating in the Lighthouse Challenge. I have challenged myself to row 250,000 meters and will be working on it for the entire month. During this time, I will be raising money to help support Lighthouse’s emergency programs, including their emergency shelter and food programs to help fight hunger and homelessness. As a bonus stretch goal, I intend to watch the entire Hamilton musical on Disney+ from start to finish; something I have attempted but failed in the past.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Lighthouse has gone from serving 10,000 individuals a year to almost 5,000 each week with food, shelter, or other emergency needs. The need continues to grow and they need our help.
Please consider making a donation today, or even signing up, setting your own goal, and joining my team for the Lighthouse Challenge! No amount is too small and whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated. Together, we can help fight hunger and homelessness in our community. Thank you in advance for your support!
I've managed to conclude week 4 at 213,865 meters. This leaves me just 3 days to row 36,135 more meters, or 12,045 meters per day. This is pretty far outside of my typical volume, but I'll see what I can do...
Week 3 concludes at 151,568 meters. This leaves me just 10 days to row close to 100,000 more meters, AND to watch Hamilton all the way through. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to reach my goal, folks... but I will try!
Week 2 concludes at 96,559 meters. A bit behind, thanks to the COVID-19 vaccine setting me back a bit, and I still have yet to watch Hamilton. Will try to catch up over the next couple weeks!
Missed day 12 due to COVID-19 vaccine arm pain. Ouch!
Week 1 concludes at 59,307 meters, but I still have yet to watch Hamilton.
More day 2!
My goal is to row 250,000 meters and watch Hamilton all the way through!
